Soco to Socal This Sunday December 6, the bridge between South Coast Massachusetts and Southern California becomes a reality, with the "Soco to Socal" screening and filmmaker dialogue. Hosted by the Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles, the evening will be transmitted live to the entire world via bridgethink.org. With "New Media" revolutionizing how viewers get their stories, independent creators are competing more and more with Hollywood for audiences. Filmmakers in Los Angeles and in the South Coast of Massachusetts will screen 6 short films and debate the benefits and challenges of making a film regionally as opposed to working near an industry center. |

Rab Studios' newest Angles video will be featured in the lineup, alongside Adam P. Cray of Cinemastar Productions, Chris Hassan of Shattered Glass Films, and members of the Filmmakers Alliance. Short films range from light and humorous to intensely thrilling, each bringing a new perspective to the "regional vs. resource access" debate. Keeping the discussion as publicly open as possible, BridgeThink is now accepting questions to be answered by the filmmakers at the event. On top of that, they will be fielding more questions that night, via UStream! With technology changing the very face of the film industry, this is an event no filmmaker should miss. For more information on how to get involved in the discussion, or for directions to the Echo Park Film Center, visit bridgethink.org/socotosocal. |
