Lights! Camera! Action!
Producer Allison Freitas and Creative Director Robert Bartolome took to the stage on Wedneday at the annual Lights! Camera! Action! media conference in Millis, Massachusetts. Showcasing some of Rab's latest work, the duo hosted an open discussion with busloads of high school students from throughout the New England area. "We really want to have as much of a positive impact as we can on the students," said Freitas. "Most of them are getting ready to study film next year in college, so we've been helping them get an idea of what to expect. We've also been showing some of our work, and discussing what goes into making different types of film projects." Popular clips included REGA's Wrap MC's and Oh See Dee's Neighborhood Chant. "The focus of our panel is music videos and short-form film," said Bartolome, "but we've kept the discussion very open, and we've been able to cover a lot of different topics. Most of the students have been really interested in the production process, in general. Others have have asked about the business side of the industry, and building a career, etc." Students interested in interning with Rab Studios were even provided contact information. "The moral of our story is that you just need to get out there and get involved," said Freitas. "Students at this age need to build their portfolios and production experience, and we're happy to help them out with internships!" |
