Hassan Tells His Story
June 12, 2010

On Friday night, Soco Mass filmmaker Chris Hassan jump-started a series of presentations in New Bedford's Artworks! gallery. Along with an exhibit focusing on digital media, including film and photography, the gallery is hosting an event every Thursday until July 8th.

With an explosive, glass-shattering intro, Hassan kept the crowd alive with his humor and some interesting tales behind his production company, Shattered Glass Films. A handful of the Writer/Director/Actor's shorts were screened, including "Americance," "Survivor Guilt," and "Breadsticks."

During an informative Q&A session, Hassan offered his advice to aspiring filmmakers, and stressed the importance of simply getting out there and doing. "Just start creating," he explained. "Even if you make something bad. Film is a learning experience."

Upcoming events include Writer/AD Tommy Whalen and his holiday comedy "Busted Balls," Writer/Director Adam P. Cray and his upcoming production of Last Seen, and Writer/Director Jay Burke, who will be discussing his highly-anticipated feature Whaling City. And on Thursday, July 1st, the Rab crew will be taking the stage to reflect on building a self-sustaining production company outside of industry borders.

Join the filmmakers ever Thursday at 7p, at:
Artworks! 384 Acushnet Avenue
