Drawing New Angles
August 1, 2010
Angles has been lurking under the radar for quite some time, and many fans questioned whether the gang would ever hit the streets again. This week, the Rab crew made it clear that the 'hood is not done with them.
In a somewhat surprising announcement, Producer Allison Freitas unveiled a new plan for the series. "We're reinventing the show with a whole new format for the web," she explained. "We're using the material we have, along with some unreleased scenes and new footage, and relaunching the series as 5-10 minute webisodes."
According to Associate Producer Dan Simoneau, the new format will provide the consistency it always needed to keep fans happy. "Producing hour-long episodes was very time-consuming and difficult with such a small budget," he admitted, "so unfortunately, we weren't able to release episodes on a regular basis. With the shorter format, we can easily create an entire schedule of release dates."
Director Robert Bartolome was quick to respond to questionable fan expectations. "It's important to note that these are not Angles re-runs. All the original material will be there, but there are a lot of new scenes coming with it. We have hours of never-before-seen footage, and on top of that, we will be producing more content just for this."

"We're currently finalizing a schedule for the show," said Freitas, "but it is set for launch early this Fall." Along with the updated format, Rab is prepping a brand new website, featuring a truckload of interactive goodies, downloads, and, of course, tons of music.
It's been a long wait for all of us," said Bartolome. "We didn't want to jump into anything until we felt it was going to be completely successful and feasible. Now we're finally ready."
