Watch Your Grammar by Daniel Simoneau, August 7, 2009 There’s a new soul man in town, and his name is Jaedyn Grammar. A few weeks ago, Rab Studios began developing a video for his debut single, Funky Silhouette, a rhythmic explosion of soul, R&B, and kickin’ funk that sounds like a mishmash of Ohio Players and Cut Chemist. “I grew up in the blaxploitation era, and I loved every second of it,” said Mr. Grammar. “Isaac Hayes, Ike Turner, Pee Wee Ellis... [They] were like my musical parents, you know?” |

Funky Silhouette offers a modern spin on funk music, on top of some very humorous lyrics. "I wanna see you dance now, but I don't wanna see your face. now," Grammar chants in high falsetto over a wah-wah guitar riff. "I'm happy to be making the music I love," Grammar explained, "and I'm even more happy I don't take it too seriously. It's supposed to be fun. You can't spell funk without fun." Production for the video begins in just a few weeks, and lead dancers are still
needed. Email info@rabstudios.com if you are interested in auditioning for the
video.
