Economy Getting You Down?

Job hunt getting you down? Well…blame the economy. Mainstream music not up to par? Blame the economy. The summer’s over? Rab Studios says blame the economy.

In the midst of a rough economic time, filled with layoffs, foreclosures, and some chronic depression, Rab Studios has been working with a handful of artists to create Blame the Economy, a “Morale Stimulus Package” that highlights a wide range of musical acts from across New England.

“We’ve worked with an incredible variety of artists ,” said Robert Bartolome, “and we always thought it would be interesting to highlight all of our projects in one soundtrack album.”

From the quirk-pop humor of Oh See Dee’s “Neighborhood Chant,” to a cutesy ballad from the Groceries, as well as Jaedyn Grammar’s explosive funk party, there is fun for all.

“The title is great,” said Grammar excitedly. “Not only is the economy affecting us every day, but the whole idea of a team-effort compilation album is really in the spirit of how this country’s beginning to operate.”

Oh See Dee’s debut single, “Neighborhood Chant,” will be available in the RabStore on Tuesday, September 8, followed by a video on September 15.

Blame the Economy is set for release on September 22. Artist details and a complete track listing will be posted soon.
